Tips to Stay Organized (and Less Stressed) During the Busy Holiday Season
The holiday season is just about to kick into full gear.
This can mean numerous social gatherings, work functions, gift shopping, and meal prep. The to-do list can be endless, leading to a hectic atmosphere. You can reduce stress and enjoy the holiday season more with the right methods.
Ready to tackle the chaos? Here are some helpful tips
1. **Prioritize Activities and Create Lists**: Organize your tasks by creating checklists. It can help you focus on the most important things so everything gets done and nothing falls through the cracks. Having a checklist can make you feel more organized and in control. And use your calendar, whether digital or paper. Remember, you don’t have to say yes to everything.
2. **Organize Holiday Items**: If you enjoy decorating and changing up your home for the season, consider keeping all your holiday items (decorations, linens, serving pieces, etc.) in one organized place. There are many storage options that you can implement, if not already done. It will make locating what you need easier, and save time during the busy season.
3. **Start Shopping Early**: Instead of battling crowds in stores, consider doing more online shopping. And environmentally friendly gifts, such as gift certificates for meals, experiences, or streaming services, are excellent.
4. **Give the Gift of Your Time: This is often appreciated by older individuals who may enjoy your company more than anything else. Alternatively, consider volunteering at a local shelter or food pantry.
