Summer Travel - How To Pack For A Trip
Happy Summer Solstice! This is often considered the best time of year because it also means vacation! Whether you’re planning to hit the road or have booked a flight to a far-off destination, you will want to consider how and what you pack.
Whether embarking on a road trip or hopping on a plane, packing light is the key to stress-free travel. This is especially crucial if you have multiple destinations and will be changing accommodations frequently. Trust us, lugging heavy bags from the parking lot to your hotel room is no fun.
Travel-sized bottles are not just convenient, they are your secret weapon for toiletries. They are necessary if you are going by air and want to forgo checking luggage and do carry-on only, as you must adhere to the FAA’s 3-1-1 liquids rule (see below). Most hotels also provide some toiletries.
Investing in a good piece of luggage is also an essential item. Opt for a durable, lightweight suitcase or backpack, there are many options available. Please note that you should always refer to your airline’s particular requirements when considering the size and weight of your bags. If you are going abroad and using a foreign airline, their luggage restrictions tend to be stricter than those of U.S.-based carriers.
A bag with multiple compartments and easy-access pockets can make your life much easier, especially when traveling through airports or navigating crowded streets. Lastly, remember to pack some entertainment for the journey. Books, magazines, or a tablet loaded with movies and music can help make long flights or car rides more enjoyable. Following these packing tips will prepare you for a smooth and enjoyable vacation. So go ahead, pack smart, and get ready to make some unforgettable summer memories!
